HONOR 30S has been announced with a 6.5-inch FHD+ screen, 64MP QUAD-rear cameras, run Android 10, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, 4000mAh battery capacity, and the first smartphone to be powered by its Kirin 820 5G SoC.
HUAWEI’s HONOR brand introduced the HONOR 30S in China, and it was announced alongside with the new Kirin 820 chipset and HONOR Play 9A. However, the HONOR 30S is the company’s latest mid-range smartphone.
The HONOR 30S is coming a few days after HUAWEI announces its flagship P40 series with 5G connectivity. However, the phone comes in three gradient colors.

The HONOR 30S comes with a 6.5-inch LTPS LCD 2400 × 1080 pixel resolution, 2.5D curved glass, HDR10, 96% NTSC color gamut and boasts of a 90.3% screen-to-body ratio. Features special e-Reader mode (Black & White), and eye-protection mode.
It comes with a gradient glass back design, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Black, Green and Blue colors, 2.4mm ultra-narrow, weighs 190g and measures 8.58mm thickness.
The punch-hole display houses a single 16-megapixels selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and supports 5G SA/NSA dual-mode standards and Wi-Fi ac, BL 5.1, and a 3.5mm headphone jack (NO NFC or an IR port).
It arrives with QUAD-rear camera setup, which includes the main 64-megapixel main camera with f/1.8, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4, and 3x optical zoom, 8-megapixel 120° ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.4, and a 2-megapixel macro lens with f/2.4.
The HONOR 30S phone doesn’t get OIS and supports 4K videos and 960fps slo-mo video at 720p resolution. You also get AIS and EIS for stabilization.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 7nm Kirin 820 processor, an eight-core architecture with four ARM-Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.84GHz alongside four ARM-A76 cores with varying clock speeds.
While the ARM Mali-G57MP6 takes care of GPU, which is covered by the six-core Mali-G57 and Kirin ISP 5.0 image signal processor which may bring flagship-level performance and advanced noise reduction.
It is available in a single 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, but either in 128GB / 256GB inbuilt storage, runs on Android 10 with Magic UI 3.1.1 but has HUAWEI Mobile Services instead of Google Play Services.
Other features include Link Turbo, GPU Turbo and an anti-aging software feature that the company claims will keep the UI smooth and snappy for more than 30 months.
While a 4000mAh battery keeps the phone switched on at all times with 40W super-fast charging that can charge up to 70% in 30 minutes. You can start buying the phone from March 30 and will go on sales in China from April 7.
For pricing, the 128GB storage version goes for 2399 yuan ($338), while the 256GB storage version is priced at 2699 yuan ($380). HONOR did not specify the global release of the phone.
