Year after year, Infinix launches its best camera Smartphone lineup known as the CAMON series and this year is no different as the company announces its CAMON 17 series – Camon 17, Camon 17P, and Camon 17 Pro.

These trios aren’t just the company’s latest Smartphone right now but are also the best money can buy. As we all know, TECNO mobile has grown rapidly from the African market and expanded into other Continents.

With the introduction of the CAMON 17 lineup in Nigeria and Kenya, the company is planning on bringing more Smartphone experience to the world with revolutionalized design, beautiful artwork, and powerful software features.

    TECNO Camon 17

Being the direct successor to the last year’s CAMON 16, the newly introduced Camon 17 arrives with a 6.6′ HD 720p resolution and supports a 90Hz refresh rate for better/smoother screen scrolling and even great during gameplay.

As you may have expected, similar to most Smartphones coming from TECNO and Infinix, the Camon 17 is driven by MediaTek’s Helio G85 processor, it’s a better gaming chipset that provides better gaming performance.

Well, if you should go into details, there are major gaming features that offer seamless performance during gameplay. It is available in either 4GB RAM / 6GB RAM, either way, you are getting 128GB internal storage.

The CAMON 17 is available in Frost Sliver, Deep sea, and Tranquil Green color options. It runs on HiOS7.6 based on Android 11 OS and sports a 5000mAh battery with support for an 18W Flash Charge.

All these might sound intriguing but the camera takes the better part of this Smartphone. On the front, there is a 16-megapixels sensor for taking beautiful selfie shots with Dual Flash, thanks to AI beautification.

Aligned vertically, the CAMON 17 sports a triple rear camera setup, including the primary 48-megapixels with Quad Flash, AI lens, and 2-megapixels bokeh camera sensor. There is the last circular hole just written AI on top.

TECNO promises better photography with its CAMON 17, during the day and even at night. The glossy back finish still hosts the rear-mounted fingerprint reader.

    TECNO Camon 17P

TECNO Camon 17P and Camon 17 PRO

TECNO announced Camon 16 series which includes four Smartphones as we know it – Camon 16, Camon 16S, Camon 16 Premier, and Camon 16 Pro. This time around, the company also did some tweaking here, – Camon 17P and Camon 17 Pro.

And hey, maybe we should be expecting the fourth handset in the Camon 17 later or sooner. However, the Camon 17P bears more similar specifications to the PRO version.

With support for a 90Hz refresh rate, allowing smooth scrolling, both devices pack a 6.8-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel, 395 PPI, centered punch-hole, and up to 500 nits peak brightness and boasts an 82% screen-to-body ratio.

Aside from the display, other similar specifications include the side-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and other connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The CAMON 17P is 8.82mm thick, while the CAMON 17 Pro is 8.95mm thick, which expresses a slightly thicker panel but both are quite impressive in design and colors. You get the 17P in Frost Silver, Magnet Black, and Spruce Green.

And the CAMON 17 PRO in Dream Silver, and Malibu Blue colors options. These Smartphones are fueled by the same 5000mAh battery capacity, while the PRO supports a bigger 25W fast charging capacity.

While the CAMON 17P is stuck with the vanilla CAMON 17’s 18W fast charging technology. These phones run on HiOS7.6 based on Android 11 OS. However, the PRO supports dual speaker stereo surround sound for quality sounds.

The cameras are definitely the keystroke to these phones, even to the past CAMON series. Yea, it is among the huge differences between these phones, including the MediaTek’s processor.

    TECNO Camon 17 Pro

Starting with the front cameras, the CAMON 17 PRO comes with a 48-megapixels selfie shooter, while the CAMON 17P sports a 16-megapixels selfie snapper. As expected, these cameras come with dual flash and AI beautification.

One spectacular feature is the 50mm camera lens support on these phones. With the 50mm lens, the camera can provide a shallow depth of field alongside huge creative scope to blur out backgrounds and focus attention on your main subject.

There is also support for Taivos imaging lab 2.0, which is TECNO’s AI Vision Optimization Solution for CAMON series, it is an image processing and enhancement lab. Other features include the Super Night 2.0, Normal, and Portrait Bokeh.

The CAMON 17 Pro QUAD-rear camera setup is similar to other mid-range smartphones out there, starts with a 64-megapixels main camera lens, an 8-megapixels wide-angle lens, 2-megapixels bokeh lens, and 2-megapixels B/W lens.

While the 17P starts with a 2-megapixels macro lens, 64-megapixels main lens, 2-megapixels bokeh effect, and lastly an AI lens such as the CAMON 17. Both phones come with a QUAD-camera flash on the back.

These phones can also shoot cool videos with their videography effects, 2K Time Lapses (17P), 4k Time Lapses (PRO) Night mode on the go, bokeh effect, and also support AR3.5, allowing you to create and customize your own emoji.

One significant camera feature on the PRO is the Magic pixel, which the company claims that when you switch to it, your camera resolution will quickly rise to 108MP, allowing clearer and brighter shots.

Both phones use a gaming processor by MediaTek, the CAMON 17 PRO is powered by Helio G95, and Helio G85 drives the CAMON 17P with 8 core CPU with HyperEngine game optimization, which the company says provides a faster chipset for exceptional performance.

The CAMON 17P comes in a single memory configuration, 6GB RAM with 128GB storage, while the PRO comes in a whopping 8GB RAM with 256GB storage. Allowing you to store, store and even store more files.

Well, none of this uses an AMOLED screen display, that is why the fingerprint reader is shifted to the side panel. These are definitely mid-range Smartphones, that is why you will miss some spectacular features.
