Lenovo Z5 Pro GT launched as the world’s first Snapdragon 855 SoC-powered smartphone, with 12GB RAM, in-display fingerprint, sliding mechanism and four cameras.
In a single event in Beijing, China, Lenovo unveiled two major phones, Z5s and Z5 Pro GT each targeting different markets – affordable and premium high-end Smartphone markets.
The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is the official successor to the Lenovo Z5 Pro, which also arrived with some similar specifications and features.
Nevertheless, the Z5 Pro GT is going for a $390 for the standard model, which is still expensive than the Z5 Pro Android Smartphone.

Design and Display
The Lenovo Z5 Pro GT is a spotless device, that achieved it aim, with a sliding mechanism. Which hides the The additional name “GT” shows the phone is particularly for speed or racing.
At the back, it arrives with a premium glass with a pattern imitating carbon, at the top side of the phone, the company added a red accents.
Making it obvious that the Z5 Pro GT is made for speed! Anyways, the red accents were also added to the main camera sensors, and the bottom half of the slider.
It comes with 6.39-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) Super AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and protected by a corning gorilla glass protection.
Underneath the screen display sits an in-display fingerprint sensor, and it comes in Carbon Black color option with carbon fibre finish on top.
Camera and Connectivity
You won’t find the selfie snapper, because it is hidden by the sliding mechanism, which sports a dual camera. While the back also comes with dual camera.
At the front, the sliding mechanism features a dual camera setup of the main 16-megapixels with an f/2.2 aperture + 8-megapixels IR sensor for Face Unlock.
While at the back, the Lenovo Z5 Pro GT comes with another primary 16-megapixels Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and support dual-tone LED flash, there is the secondary 24-megapixels Sony IMX576 sensor with f/1.8.
It comes with all expected certifications, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, dual nano SIM slots, NFC, and 3.5mm headphone jack dongle for the USB Type-C. Which is handful of network and connectivity for the phone.
Performance and Battery
Here is the world’s first Smartphone that runs on 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC with a Snapdragon X50 modem to enable 5G connectivity.
The handset is available in different models, there is 6GB RAM + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB and the premium 12GB RAM and 512 GB storage.
Lenovo actually thought that the 10GB RAM Era isn’t enough, they had to launch the first phone with 12GB of RAM. Probably, this is the future!
It also runs on Android 9 Pie on top of Lenovo’s ZUI ZUI 10.0 out-of-the-box. Fueled by a 3350mAh battery capacity, with fast charging technology.
The price of the standard model:

– While 12GB RAM and 512 GB storage costs CNY4,398 or ($650/€560))
Anyways, the phone pre-order will begin on January 15, while official market launch is scheduled for January 24. After all, Snapdragon 855 isn’t coming in 2018!
