Helio G90 and G90T are MediaTek’s latest gaming-focused mobile chips

    MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T are the company’s latest flagship gaming-focused mobile chips featuring octa-core CPUs and support for up to 10GB of RAM has finally been announced, this is coming weeks after the rumors.

    We all know that MediaTek’s mobile processors are mainly made for budgeted smartphones than gaming, but the new MediaTek’s Helio G90 series mobile chips is something different with its 2.05GHz octa-core CPU with ARM Cortex-A76 and A55 cores as Qualcomm.

    MediaTek’s Helio G90 series family features Mali G76 GPU with speeds of up to 800MHz and support for up to 10GB of LPDDR4x RAM. The two mobile chips also uses a HyperEngine game tech that promises to cut back on lagging and interruptions, and to boost the performance of Smartphone games.

    There is amazing network and connectivity features, like bringing LTE support when the WiFi connection is quite bad, and can even maintain two WiFi connections on different bands.

    Aside from that, MediaTek also vows low touch lag, higher prioritization for processing resources and an image quality engine that supports HDR10 visuals. It will also support up to 64-megapixel single- and multi-camera arrays, night shots and AI facial detection.

    The MediaTek’s gaming-focused Helio G90 and G90T are the first SoCs (system on a chip) in G-Series lineup. It also comes with a “rapid response engine” to make touchscreen controls feel more responsive.

    We have no idea when the MediaTek Helio G90 and G90T will ship first on Smartphones, but we are sure that they want to top-up their game from mid-range, budgeted or low-end Smartphones to taking part in the top range, premium gaming Smartphone tertiary like Qualcomm.
