Meizu 16 and 16 Plus is now official with in-display Fingerprint sensor

    Finally, the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus are officially unveiled. One of the major differences between both phone is the screen display, the Meizu 16 comes with 6” while the Meizu 16 Plus features a 6.5”. Well, users are concerned, if this is not the cheapest flagship device with in-display fingerprint sensor.

    The Meizu 16 and 16 Plus comes with minimal bezels on the top and bottom, something thin like that of razor. And to keep the flagship at bay, there is the Super AMOLED display, therefore, enhanced with 10800 screen resolution. Below is the in-glass display Fingerprint reader that needs 0.25s to trigger.

    Much like the iPhone X, the Meizu 16 and 16 Plus side bezels measures only 1.175mm and 78.2mm wide respectively. And they boast of 90% screen-to-body-ratio. There is the stereo speaker setup, hence, requires a 3.5mm audio jack headphone.

    There are a notch-less device, with faster processors of Snapdragon 845 chip-set and a new design featuring an 18:9 (or 2:1) aspect ratio display. Notably, there’s no more home button or physical fingerprint reader anymore.

    While for the camera aspect, the dual camera on the rear features a 12MP main camera (f/1.8, 1.55µm) with OIS and a 20MP telephoto camera (f/2.6, 1.0µm). It’s a combo of IMX 380 and IMX 350 image sensors and ring 6-LED flash still flashes also.

    On the front snapper, you have the 20MP selfie camera with auto HDR and the usual AI enhancements for the camera and it doubles as the Face ID Unlock. There is improved cooling and persistent performance. The mBack navigation gestures are still here.

    Another notable differences is the battery capacity, the Meizu 16 features a 3010 mAh battery capacity, while the Meizu 16 Plus comes with 3640 mAh battery capacity, both supports Meizu’s mCharge technology.

    Price of Meizu 16 and 16 Plus

    The Meizu 16 and 16 Plus arrives in three different variants, which includes 6GB RAM + 64GB storage (CNY 2700, $395/€340), 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (CNY 3000 / $440 / €380) and finally, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (CNY 3300 / $485 / €420) for the Meizu 16 variants.

    Meanwhile, the Meizu 16 Plus comes in 6GB RAM + 128GB storage (CNY 3,200 / $470 / €400), 8GB RAM + 128GB storage (CNY 3,500 / $510 / €440), and furthermore, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage CNY 4,000 / $585 / €500).

    According to Meizu official website, both phones are currently available in China but will be official on August 20th. Likewise, the Vivo’s in-display fingerprint sensor phones, the new Meizu phones are are much more cheaper.

    But in the first place, the Vivo X20 Plus UD is definitely a bargain at first, but besides it, other top tech companies re venturing into the tech innovation slowly.

    Similar to the likes of Xiaomi, Oppo, OnePlus and Vivo, Meizu is also a Chinese company, but up till date, they haven’t gain much success story as other brands.
