Microsoft Surface Pro X 2-in-1 device is the company’s first ARM-based Surface

    This is the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2-in-1 device and the company actually worked with Qualcomm to co-develop a new custom Surface SQ1 chip. Nevertheless, it is just a new ARM-based Surface laptop.

    Well, since the Surface 2 was launched back in 2013, Microsoft developed its first ARM-based Surface and it is the Surface PRO X. According to the company, it is quite a unique device with its classic feel, look and design.

    The new Surface PRO X arrives with a 13-inch edge-to-edge PixelSense Display with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels, which is well bigger than the 12-inch panel on the old Surface Pro.

    Alongside with the claim, they also boasts of 33% thinner bezels, which they claim it is the thinnest bezels on any 2-in-1 laptop with 10-point multitouch.

    Microsoft Surface Pro X

    Sports a 10MP AF rear camera and 5MP front camera with support for 1080p FULL HD/4K video recording. The connectivity options are Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, Snapdragon X24 LTE modem, and up to Gigabit LTE Advanced Pro5 with nanoSIM and eSIM support.

    It is powered by the new Microsoft SQ1 processor co-designed with Qualcomm, Adreno 685 iGPU, 8GB/16GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 128/256/512GB SSD.

    Not seeing the usual Intel Core chip on Microsoft products is totally different, as the company partnered with Qualcomm to developed a new custom variant of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8cx processor that is called the Surface SQ1.

    There is still the Surface Pen that has 4,096 levels of pressure, Tilt sensing, and 0.1mm precision. Another includes a keyboard includes pen docking for secure storage and charging for the new Slim Pen.

    The battery life on the Pro X is claimed to be up to 13 hours. And the company says that it is “three times more performance per watt than the Surface Pro 6”. The Microsoft Surface Pro X will be available on November 5th for $999, while preorders start today.
