Nubia Play 5G announced with 144Hz AMOLED display and Snapdragon 765G

    Nubia Play 5G gaming phone has been announced with a 6.65-inch FHD+ 144Hz AMOLED display, QUAD-rear cameras, 5100mAh battery, and powered by Snapdragon 765G chipset with up to 8GB RAM.

    ZTE’s nubia brand launched the company’s latest gaming-focused mid-ranger, it is the Nubia Play with 5G. It is the apparently affordable version of the world’s first smartphone with a 144Hz display last month – RedMagic 5G.

    While the unique tech specs include the 144Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 765G with 5G, up to 8GB RAM, 5100mAh battery, gaming features, and accessories. Others are slightly less impressive specs.

    Nubia Play

    Nubia has been using the Red Magic lineup to push the boundaries of gaming phone hardware. Now, there is a new series, Nubia Play 5G, a pure midrange gaming Smartphone.

    It packs a 6.65-inch 1080pixels FHD+ AMOLED display panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, up to 4096 levels of automatic brightness adjustment.

    There is an in-screen fingerprint sensor scanner, available in Black, Blue, and White colors option, weighs 210g, and measures 9.1mm. It is slim with a clean cutout-free design with classic top and bottom bezels.

    For the gaming features, it arrives with a dual-touch game trigger keys for the better gaming experience. The two capacitive shoulder buttons are located at the right hand of the phone.

    The temperature stays around 16° C, thanks to the ICE2.5 rack-mounted liquid cooling system with a 61mm large liquid cooling tube and various heat dissipation materials.

    For optics, the Nubia Play packs a QUAD rear camera setup, the main 48-megapixels main sensor, an 8-megapixels ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2-megapixels macro lens, and a 2-megapixels depth sensor. And a 12-megapixels selfie camera sensor stays on the front.

    Under the hood, the phone is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 765G 7nm EUV Mobile Platform with Adreno 620 GPU, 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage.

    The Android 10 with nubiaUI 8.0 runs underneath the skins of the phone, supports 5G SA/ NSA / Dual 4G VoLTE and fueled by a 5100mAh battery with 30W fast charging tech.

    After some success achieving some milestones with the Redmagic, the company is beginning a new series with the nubia play. You can order for it today but will start hitting stores from April 24th.

    Nubia Play 6GB RAM with 128GB costs 2399 yuan ($339), 8GB RAM with 128GB costs 2699 yuan ($381) and the 8GB RAM with 256GB goes for 2999 yuan ($424).
