OnePlus 7 announced with 48MP, 6.41-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, and Snapdragon 855

    This is the OnePlus 7 mobile phone with 6.41-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Snapdragon 855, 48MP rear camera, 8GB of RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor, and it runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with OxygenOS 9.5 out of the box.

    OnePlus 7 is one of the long awaited Smartphone, and it has finally arrive. It sports amazing features, incredible specifications and filled with surprises.

    However, the Chinese based company, that is now a sight for global market, announces the new handset at its global event in Bengaluru, London, and New York on Tuesday.

    The OnePlus 7 is the direct successor to the OnePlus 6T mobile phone and it packs almost similar specs to the 6T. For instance, the 6.41-inch FHD+ Optic AMOLED display and notch are the same.

    Design and Display

    The OnePlus 7 is one of the most awaited Smartphone in 2019, and the company did not fail to overwhelm us with its amazing features and specs.

    It packs a 3D Corning Gorilla Glass back design, and just like the 6T, it comes with a waterdrop-shaped display notch display design which holds the front facing shooter.

    The OnePlus 7 comes with a 6.41-inch Full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) Optic AMOLED display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a pixel density of 402ppi, and support for sRGB and DCI-P3 colour gamuts.

    OnePlus added the Reading Mode and Night Mode features, which is purely amazing for night mood while the screen display is completely protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

    Despite it top-notch specifications and features, the device is still the best at its cheapest and affordable price. It will be available in Mirror Grey and Red color variants.

    Understand that the OnePlus 7 in Mirror Gray and Red color will be exclusive to China and India, excluding Europe. As usual, the mobile handset will not get to the US.

    The OnePlus 7 is strategized in-between the OnePlus 6T even with the OnePlus 7 PRO handset. It supports stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

    Camera and Connectivity

    It is actually one of the best mobile phone out there, but it still comes with a dual rear camera and a single front facing selfie shooter.

    The back panel design of the phone is being interrupted with the dual camera setup, which consists of a primary 48-megapixel rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, with an f/1.7 aperture, 1.6-micron pixels (4-in-1), optical image stabilisation (OIS), electronic image stabilization (EIS), and phase detection autofocus (PDAF).

    And then the secondary 5-megapixel sensor comes with an f/2.4 aperture and 1.12-micron pixels. Nevertheless, the dual rear camera supports dual-LED flash module.

    While the water-drop notch display design houses a single 16-megapixel camera on the front with Sony IMX471 sensor, 1-micron pixels, an f/2.0 aperture, and EIS. The company did not use a pop-up camera mechanism.

    The cameras arrives with so many features, such as HDR, Screen Flash, Face Retouching, Time-Lapse, Portrait, UltraShot, Nightscape, Pro Mode, AI Scene Detection, Panorama, HDR, Studio Lighting, Time-Lapse, and RAW Image.

    While the main camera, records videos at 4K/60fps including 1080p/240fps and 720p/480fps slow-mo modes. , the 16MP shooter (1.0µm pixels) records 1080p videos with EIS.

    For network and connectivity, the phone supports 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS (L1 + L2 Dual Band) + GLONASS, USB Type-C.

    Performance and Storage

    The OnePlus 7 is completely powered by the latest Octa-Core Snapdragon 855 7nm Mobile Platform with 1 x 2.84GHz Kryo 485 + 3 x 2.42GHz Kryo 485 + 4x 1.80GHz Kryo 485.

    Coupled with Adreno 640 GPU, and it is available in different model, there is the 6GB LPDDR4X RAM with 128GB (UFS 3.0) storage, and 8GB LPDDR4X RAM with 256GB (UFS 3.0) storage.

    Unfortunately, there is no storage expansion via microSD card. It runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with the company’s skin OxygenOS 9.5 on top.

    Comes with a bunch of sensors, and it is backed by a 3,700mAh battery capacity with 20W (5V/ 4A) fast charging, which is seen on the OnePlus 6T.

    Price of OnePlus 7

    If you are interested, you can start purchasing the Smartphone in June, with a starting price of Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version. While the 8GB RAM with 256GB storage version goes for Rs. 37999.

    Also note that the 6GB RAM variant will only be available in a Mirror Grey colour variant, while the 8GB RAM variant will be available in both Mirror Grey and Red colour variants.
