OPPO Reno launched in India with Shark Fin pop-up selfie and 8GB RAM

    The OPPO Reno has been unveiled in China, Europe and India with 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, 8GB RAM, in-display fingerprint sensor, 48MP and Snapdragon 710 SoC.

    Like I already mentioned, the OPPO Reno 10X Zoom Edition and Oppo Reno share some common specifications, like the design, battery capacity, shark fin pop-mechanism, and many others.

    There are also many others in the features and specifications. Unlike the 10x Zoom Edition, it is only available in a single variant.

    Design and Display

    OPPO Reno Android Smartphone arrives with a stupendous 3D curved glass protection, and an O-Dot ceramic point at the back of the phones to slight left the camera when placed on a flat surface.

    The mobile handset ditches a notch display, water-drop design but embraces a radical, related and weird type of pop-up mechanism to house the selfie shooter.

    It sports a 6.4-inch Full-HD+ panoramic AMOLED display, 19:5:9 aspect ratio with 430 nits brightness, 97% NTSC color gamut, and the screen display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

    The phone also boasts of 93.1 percent screen-to-body ratio with ultra narrow bezels, all thanks to the notch-less and bezel-less design.

    The display panel is TUV Rheinland certified. The company also built a fingerprint sensor inside the phone’s screen display. And the company touted that the in-display fingerprint scanner is 28.5% faster than the predecessor.

    Aside from that, the OPPO Reno comes in Jet Black and Ocean Green colors, and it hosts a dual rear camera lens and a single front facing selfie snapper.

    Camera and Connectivity

    The OPPO Reno shark fin pop-up mechanism hosts a single 16-megapixels lens with f/2.0 aperture, and the selfie camera supports five portrait modes and uses AI to boost self-portraits.

    The company says that the iconic Shark Fin side-swing selfie camera module can withstand over 200,000 times of lifting and the mechanism takes just 0.8 seconds.

    Unlike the Reno 10x Zoom Edition with triple rear camera, the OPPO Reno phone comes with a dual rear camera setup, which consists of a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

    The handset arrives with many camera features. Also with various types of network and connectivity features, which includes dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS, NFC, USB Type-C.

    Performance and Battery

    OPPO Reno is completely powered by a Octa Core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform, coupled with Adreno 616 GPU. Which provides an intensive gaming sessions.

    Not only that, the company also attached HyperBoost performance enhancements, including Game Boost 2.0 acceleration engine with Frame Boost and Touch Boost accelerations to enhance mobile gaming experiences.

    The handset is available in just 8GB of RAM, and 256GB (UFS 2.1) of storage. Thankfully, you can expand the memory via a dedicated expandable microSD card slot.

    It runs on the company’s ColorOS 6 based on Android Pie out of the box, and backed by a 3765mAh battery with VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

    The company included Hi-Res and Dolby Atmos support on the Reno series. And the price of the phone is Rs. 32990, and it is currently available for pre-order from and will be available in India from June 7th.
