Realme 2 Pro might be the next India’s best mid-range device

    Oppo’s subsidiary company, Realme has successfully unveiled their latest Android Smartphone with 8GB of RAM, and mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC processor but the notable design is the water-display notch at the up front.

    The Realme 2 Pro is the successor to the Realme 2, and I really think it is a worthy upgrade from other phones in the budgeted atmosphere.

    The phone packs all the latest and trending features on the front and back design. Anyways, lets see what the Realme 2 Pro have for us:

    Design and Display

    After the official launch of the Realme Sub-brand by Chinese smartphone maker, Oppo. The company has been making tremendous sells and generating the expected resources and also competing with Xiaomi’s Redmi series in India, China and other Asia country.

    This is the Realme 2 Pro, it is the successor to the Realme 2. And it packs a lot of design differentiation from the former family member.

    The Realme 2 Pro Android Smartphone comes with a top notch display, which Vivo calls “Halo Fullview Display.” and Oppo called it “Waterdrop Screen,”

    But Realme is calling it “Dewdrop Design” and it is their first Smartphone to arrive with this feature. It holds the selfie snapper, light sensor and receiver.

    There is a large 6.3” LCD Full HD+ screen, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, slimmer bezels, and show high quality photos and videos at 1080 pixels.

    The screen size is slightly larger than the Realme 2, but the smaller notch display is quite impressive and might serve as one of the selling point.

    It boasts of 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and it is available in Blue Ocean, Black Sea, Ice Lake color options.

    Camera and Connectivity

    The Realme 2 Pro arrives with a dual back camera setup of 16-megapixels f/1.7 + 2-megapxels f/2.4 camera. It is supported by a back LED Flash for easy and sharp shot.

    The selfie shooter, sitting in the notch has 16-megapixels with f/2.0 lens.

    The cameras supports all the camera features, such as Dual-pixels, AI scene recognition, AI beautification, and AI album. There’s support for facial unlocks, AR music stickers, and improved sound quality.

    For your selfies, it can recognize up to 296 facial identification points, and offer 8 million beautification options for your selfies.

    The phone comes with other network and connectivity features like GPS/aGPS/GLONASS/BeiDou, Micro-USB, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac), and 2.4GHz/5GHz, Bluetooth 5.0.

    Performance and Battery

    It sounds somehow, but the Realme 2 Pro is gearing up to beat India mid-range markets, might even be the king in matter of months.

    The handset is powered by the mid-range chipset, Snapdragon 660 processor, which is seen on different phones like BlackBerry Key2.

    And it runs on the company’s ColorOS 5.2 with Android 8.1 Oreo on top. And everything is fueled by the large 3,500mAh battery, which uses AI to conserve battery, when the phone is not use.

    Supports Google Assistant, Smart Scan, and a gaming mode, “Easy Screenshot,” Clone Phone, and Smart Play that allows local videos to keep playing in the background.

    The Realme 2 Pro costs:
    – 13,990 Indian rupees / $194 / N70,000 for the 4GB/64GB model
    – 15,990 Indian rupees / $220 / N80,000 for the 6GB/64GB model, and
    – 17,990 Indian rupees / $250 / N90,000 for the 8GB/128GB model.

    I can say, the Realme 2 Pro fits the budgeted Android Smartphone markets, spending almost N100,000 for an 8GB RAM mobile phone is quite surprising and mouth watering deal!

    The phone will launch on October 11 at Midnight, exclusively on Flipkart and guess what? this will be the first Realme handset to be available outside of India!
