Redmi 8A comes with HD+ Dot Notch, 5000mAh battery and 18W USB Type-C fast charging

    The Redmi 8A has been announced with 6.22-inch HD+ waterdrop display, Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, splash-resistant P2i nano-coating, 5000mAh battery capacity with 18W USB Type-C fast charging, Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 SoC with up to 3GB RAM and runs Android Pie with MIUI 10 on top.

    Before the official launch, Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has already announced the Redmi 8A launching date, and it came as expected. The Redmi 8A is the company’s latest affordable phone and also the successor to the Redmi 7A handset.

    The Redmi 8A is just a entry-level mobile phone with budgeted specs and features. And unlike the previous Redmi A-series, the 8A arrived with a water-drop Dot Notch display, which is also the first among the family.

    The specifications and features are purely clear, available in Midnight Black, Ocean Blue and Sunset Red colors options, and it sports a splash resistant nano coating.

    Powered by a Snapdragon 439 Mobile Platform with Adreno 505 GPU, coupled with 2GB / 3GB RAM with 32GB storage, which is expandable up to 512GB with microSD and runs on Android 9.0 (Pie) with MIUI 10.

    Comes with a single 12-megapixels rear camera with LED flash, Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.9 aperture, Dual PD auto focus and another single 8-megapixels front-facing camera. It also support AI Face Unlock.

    It is backed by a 5000mAh battery capacity with 18W fast charging, there is a 10W charger in the box and it can be powered via a USB Type-C port. Which is the first phone in the price range to sport Type-C.

    The Redmi 8A is priced at Rs. 6499 ($92) and Rs. 6999 ($99) for the 2GB and 3GB RAM option. It will be available from Flipkart and mi.com starting from September 29th midnight.
