Redmi 9 introduced with QUAD-rear cameras, and Helio G80 chipset

    Redmi 9 announced as the company’s latest Smartphone with QUAD-rear cameras, 6.53-inch FHD+ display, 5020mAh battery, and powered by MediaTek’s gaming chipset, the Helio G80 SoC.

    Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 series is specially made for the company’s first member, where the Note 9 is already popular. The design of the four rear-mounted cameras is definitely a spectacular, circular round-shape with the lens placed vertically.

    After the official launch, the company added another variant, which includes the 4GB + 128GB for CNY 999 and 6GB + 128GB storage variants for CNY 1,199. They are all expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.

    Redmi 9

    The Redmi 9 is the official successor to the previously introduced Redmi 8. Few upgrades are situated around the display, processor, cameras, battery capacity, and others.

    It packs a 6.53” LCD with Full HD+ resolution, boasts up to 89.83% screen-to-body ratio, with a water-drop notch display that houses a single 8-megapixels front-facing f/2.0 camera with fixed focus.

    There is a Gorilla Glass 3 protection on the back panel, measures 9.1mm in thickness, weighs 198g, with a textured anti-fingerprint design on the back panel.

    You can find the phone in two major variants, and available in Ocean Green, Sunset Purple, and Carbon Gray colors options. There is a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, which is situated right under the triple rear camera inside the circle.

    The QUAD cameras lens on the back includes the main 13-megapixel sensor, 8-megapixel 118° FoV ultra-wide-angle lens, 5-megapixel 4cm macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It still holds the 3.5mm audio jack, supports Dual 4G VoLTE, Fm, NFC, USB Type-C, and other connectivity features.

    Redmi 9 cameras

    The Redmi 9 is powered by the MediaTek’s Helio G80 chipset, with a Dual 2GHz Cortex-A75 + Hexa 2GHz 6x Cortex-A55 CPUs and 1000MHz ARM Mali-G52 2EEMC2 GPU.

    You can find the phone in either 3GB RAM with 32GB, / 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, and you can also expand any of the memory storage up to 512GB via MicroSD card slot.

    It supports dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD), runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11, which can be upgraded to MIUI 12 and the 5020mAh battery capacity to keep phone’s light on, with support for 18W fast charging, and comes with 10W charger in the box.

    Other retailers like Banggood and Gearbest are currently offering the device, starting from $139, while others are offering it for €139 ($158) and €169 ($192) for the 3GB/4GB RAM. But the company confirmed the official costs start from €149 for 3GB/32GB and €179 for 4GB/64GB storage.
