After a series of rumors and leaks, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi Note 9 Pro and Note 9 Pro Max has been announced with a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD display, and the latest Snapdragon 720G 8nm chipset.
The two new smartphones are the company’s latest premium mid-range phones and successor to last year’s Redmi Note 8 Pro in India. Both devices pack a bunch of similarities and a few differences in specs and features.
After discontinuing three generations of Mi Max lineup smartphones, Redmi Note 9 and Note 9 Pro Max brings back the big screen display experience, which comes with a 6.67” screen.

Both mobile phones sport the 6.67-inch 1080 pixels 20:9 Full HD+ LCD screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 Protection and Dot-display that houses a single centered selfie snapper at the top of the display, with different sensors.
Redmi Note 9 PRO and Note 9 PRO MAX comes with a glass back panel with Aura Balance design. You can find a fingerprint scanner at the side of the phone, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The new mobile phones are both powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 720G 8nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 618 GPU, available in 6GB / 4GB RAM with 64GB storage, and 6GB / 8GB RAM with 128GB storage, you can expand any of the options.
It supports dual SIM (nano + nano + microSD), Dual 4G VoLTE, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio, dual microphones, weighs 209g, runs on Android 10 with MIUI 11 out of the box.

The major differences rely on just the main camera and selfie camera with fast charging speed. A gigantic 5020mAh battery capacity, but the Note 9 PRO comes with 18W fast charging and 33W fast charging in Pro Max, which can charge up to 50% in under 30 minutes.
While the cameras include the main cam on the 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor with f/1.89 aperture in Redmi Note 9 Pro Max, and 48MP Samsung ISOCELL GM2 with f/1.79 aperture in Note 9 Pro, both with PDAF, EIS, 0.8μm pixel size, LED flash, EIS.
While the other three remain the same, 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, 5MP 2cm macro lens, 2MP depth sensor, 4k 30 fps video recording. While the in-screen selfie front camera sensor differs, with 32MP in Note 9 Pro Max and 16MP in Note 9 Pro.
