Tecno Pop 5X launched as the third Smartphone in the Pop 5 series, and this is just another ultra-affordable smartphone. The Pop 5X features a 6.5-inch display, 8-megapixels triple rear camera, and runs Android 10 Go out of the box.
The Pop 5X follows the Tecno Pop 5 Pro and Tecno Pop 5 LTE that was recently introduced in India, although, the Pop 5X was launched in Mexico. Tecno is offering the phone for MXN2,000 ($115), and it is already available for purchase.
On the front is a 6.5” HD 720p screen display with a waterdrop-style notch that houses a single 5-megapixels selfie snapper. During the announcement, the Pop 5X is available in two color options – Cosmic Shine and Crystal Blue.
Around the back panel is a triple rear camera setup that features a primary 8-megapixel camera sensor, alongside two QVGA resolution secondary and tertiary cameras, which aren’t really good pairs of cameras.
The Tecno Pop 5X is powered by an Unisoc SC9832E processor with 1.4GHz quad-core SoC paired with 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage, and fortunately, you can expand the memory storage via a dedicated microSD card support.
It features a moderate 4,000mAh battery which draws power over a traditional micro-USB port and uses AI-based power management that offers improved battery performance by up to 10 percent, the company claimed.
The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and FM. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back panel, which is directly next to the cameras. It is available at some physical stores around the Latin American country.
Tecno Spark 8C
Tecno Spark 8C is also one of the affordable smartphones to be launched, but this was announced in Nigeria in four color options: Turquoise, Black, Purple, and Grey. However, the Spark 8C pricing hasn’t yet been revealed by the company.
Let’s take a rundown of the specs, it features a 6.6″ HD+ LCD screen, with 90Hz refresh rate support, 8-megapixels selfie snapper inside the waterdrop notch display at the top. It is an entry-level handset with a rectangular fingerprint scanner support.
It features a dual rear camera, 13-megapixels primary sensor, and 2-megapixels secondary sensor. It packs an average 5,000mAh battery capacity, which provides 1-2day usage on a full charge. There was no mention of fast charging tho.
With an unspecific processor, the phone comes in either 2/3GB RAM, 64GB storage, and a Memory Fusion that lets you reserve some of the storage for virtual expansion. The new handset is 8.9mm thick, supports WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G LTE, and NFC for payment.
