Tecno POVA 5G officially announced in India with 5G modem support – it is the company’s first 5G smartphone in India with 11 5G bands in the country. It packs a huge battery capacity, a 6.9-inch LCD display, and is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 processor.
The Tecno POVA 5G follows as the successor to the POVA and POVA 2 Android-powered Smartphones. Tecno POVA 5G was first introduced last year’s December. and it boots Tecno’s custom HiOS 8 based on Android 11 out of the box.
On the front is a 6.9-inch 1080 pixels Full HD+ LCD screen with 91% screen-to-body ratio, support for 120Hz refresh rate, and 180Hz touch sampling rate. It is available in Aether Black color option.
The company specifically took interest in the rear panel design, TECNO said “The back of the phone has a special craft that creates a unique textured effect that combines a hard-edged feel with a technological pioneer for a cool look”
It arrives with a triple rear camera sensor, a primary 50-megapixels f/1.6 sensor, 2-megapixels macro camera, and AI lens support with quad-LED flash, 4K Time-lapse, 960 fps Slow Motion, Video Bokeh, and Video Beauty.
The notch at the top front houses a single 16-megapixels sensor with dual-LED flash support. The connectivity includes 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6 802.11 ax, Bluetooth 5.2 support, and GPS for positioning. It features a 3.5mm audio jack, and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Tecno Pova 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 900 6nm processor with 2x 2.4GHz Cortex-A78 and 6x 2GHz Cortex-A55 CPUs coupled with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU for better graphic performance.
It is available in 8GB LPDDR5 RAM with 3GB of virtual RAM through memory fusion technology, 128GB (UFS 3.1) storage, and support memory expansion up to 512GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. Allowing you to extend your memory capacity.
The Panther Game Engine 2.0 promises Powerful and Dynamic Game Performance by reducing the heat, power consumption, and frame loss rate. It packs a 6000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging via a USB-C port that can charge up to 50% in 33 minutes.
Tecno POVA 5G Pricing
During the first introduction, the price wasn’t revealed. However, the India price starts at Rs. 19,999 (around N109,920 Nigerian Naira approx.), but the first 1500 buyers will get a free power bank worth Rs. 1999 via Amazon.in at an introductory price from February 14th.
