Xiaomi introduces its latest flagship series during its local India launch – Mi 11 Ultra with curved AMOLED display and its Mi 11X series consisting of both Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro with 120Hz AMOLED display.
These Smartphones arrive with a premium design finish, offering better and upgraded specifications and features. While the Mi 11 Ultra’s camera tops out here, the Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro are known internationally as the Redmi K40 and K40 Pro+.
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra
The Mi 11 Ultra is the latest addition to the Mi 11 series with top-end camera quality. It got 50-megapixels with Samsung’s massive GN2 sensor which measures 1/1.12 inches, with 1.4 μm pixel size, OIS, and can shoot up to 8K video.
In support, there is a 48-megapixels 128° ultra-wide-angle lens and another 48-megapixels telephoto camera with the same Sony IMX586 sensor, and support for OIS. There is the dToF sensor with 64 focus points and a flicker sensor.
These phones support up to 1920fps ultra slow-motion video. It also arrives with a tiny 1.1-inch screen on the giant camera island which comes in handy as a viewfinder or a notification screen.
On the front is a 20-megapixels front-facing camera with 0.8μm pixel size, and f/2.2 aperture. It arrives with a 6.81-inch E4 AMOLED quad curved DotDisplay with an in-screen fingerprint sensor and it is HDR10+ certified.
It comes with support for 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, MEMC motion compensation, Dolby Vision support, and also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus that offers better scratch and drop resistance.
The Mi 11 Ultra has a ceramic back, IP68 rating for both water and dust resistance. It is thick at 8.38mm, weighs 234g, and comes with USB Type-C audio, Hi-Res audio, Dual speakers, SOUND BY Harman Kardon. It comes in Ceramic Black and White colors.
Powering the device is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU, offered in a single 12GB LPPDDR5 6400MHz RAM with 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 OS out of the box.
There is a 5000mAh battery fueling this phone with 67W wired flash charging and 67W wireless fast charging that can fully charge the device in just 36 minutes and also has 10W wireless reverse charging.
Xiaomi mentioned that due to the certification issue the Indian version comes with a 55W charger in the box, but it will bring the 67W charger soon. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra costs INR 69,999 ($935) and will be available for purchase in India via mi.com and Amazon India.
Xiaomi Mi 11X Series
We’ve also got the Mi 11X lineup – Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro with both offering identical screen sizes, a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED displays with FHD+ resolution, support for 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
These phones also come with MEMC, 360Hz touch sampling rate, DCI-P3 color gamut, 8,192 levels of dimming, 900nit rating, and up to 1300nit brightness, and 2.76mm ultra-small punch-hole that houses a 20-megapixels camera.
Both Smartphone cameras are quite identical, f/2.2 8-megapixels 119° ultra-wide-angle lens, and f/2.4 5-megapixels telemacro camera. The main camera is different, the Mi 11X comes with 48-megapixels main sensor.
While the Mi 11X Pro arrives with Samsung’s 108-megapixels HM2 sensor which comes in at 1/1.52” in size, packs 2.1 µm pixels, f/1.75 aperture, and support for LED flash.
These feature X-axis linear motors, Stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, Audio Zoom for video, USB Type-C audio, and comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Both come in Celestial Silver and Lunar White with frosted back and Cosmic Black with shiny back.
Another major difference is the processor, the Mi 11X is powered by an Octa-Core 3.2GHz Snapdragon 870 7nm with Adreno 650 GPU, while the Mi 11X Pro with Snapdragon 888 5nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 660 GPU.
You can easily find the Mi 11X in either 6GB / 8GB LPPDDR5 RAM with 128GB (UFS 3.1) storage, while the Mi 11X Pro is available in 8GB LPPDDR5 RAM either 128GB / 256GB UFS 3.1 storage and these runs on MIUI 12 based on Android 11 OS.
These pack a 4,520mAh battery which supports up to 33W wired charging through USB Type-C that can charge from 0 to 100% in just 52 minutes. It also comes with support for Dual SIM also.
For pricing, the Mi 11X starts at INR 29,999 ($400) for the 6GB / 128GB and goes up to INR 31,999 ($427) for the 8GB / 128GB variant and will first be available for sale on the 27th of April.
On the other hand, there are the Mi 11X Pro 8GB / 128GB priced at INR 39,999 ($535) while the 8GB / 256GB goes for INR 41,999 ($560). Interested users can purchase the device starting from the 24th of April, this year.
